Having worked in the IT field for over 30 years, I know Roland from the ‘industry’. When he told me he wanted to start an IT reseller focused on the maritime industry, called Dutch IT Supplier, I was excited and we decided to become a customer.
We like to select suppliers where you do not get lost in de masses. For us, the lowest price is not the most important thing! What matters is the cooperation and if there is a problem, the phone is actually answered and action is taken immediately. I always get an answer and do not feel like a number, which makes us feel very comfortable.
Our core business is transporting containers with our own ships “short sea”. We do this from 8 offices, 10+ ships and 200+ employees. Dutch IT Supplier understands that IT products have to meet different requirements for a ship than in an office environment. If I have a question, I can always call Dutch IT Supplier for advice, for complex challenges, but also for a small question. for example, I recently needed advice on a bracket for mounting a display on the wall, and they took the time to think it through with me and advise us properly.
What Dutch IT Supplier could improve is to better publicize what they can supply. Sometimes I miss a webshop, but they more than make up for that with their very good accessibility, and I notice that their consultative function really adds value.
Dutch IT sends a nice gift to its customers several times a year. Subconsciously we know we have a good relationship with each other and do good business together, but when a nice gift arrives, everyone gets a big smile, it just works very well.
