Maritime IT that works: predictable availability at sea and on shore

Consider it done

We fine-tuned our story. “Not because anything changed in what we deliver. But to make it crystal clear what you can expect from us,” Roland de Haas, co-founder of Dutch IT Supplier explains. “Dutch IT Supplier combines consulting, delivery, and operational assurance into one practical approach that works. In other words: Consider it done.

What does “Consider it done” mean in practice?

Simply put: we’ll take care of it.

“We have a shared, intrinsic drive to help people,” says Joerie van der Meulen, co-founder of Dutch IT Supplier. “Big or small, every request gets the same attention to detail. Put it on our desk and you’ll get fast, clear feedback. We verify instead of guessing. We check. We call. We confirm. Is an item out of stock? Then we find an alternative. Is the timing critical? Then we take control of the logistics ourselves.”

That way, you always know where you stand. You can move on. We’ll monitor the situation and keep you updated.

Time-critical delivery without delay

CASE: 48 hours before departure to Brazil, a customer discovered two specific hard drives were missing. None of the usual suppliers had availability, o we moved fast. We contacted alternative vendors. Opened an account immediately. Paid upfront. Picked up the parts ourselves and delivered them the same day.

Result: the engineer departed with the components. No onboard issues. No delays. No extra costs.

What we care about

In environments where everything simply must work and every outage matters, uncertainty is not an option. “That’s why we combine consulting, delivery, and operational assurance in one approach,” Roland explains. “We take care of everything: from workstations to full infrastructure. We stay involved from the initial request to final delivery. At sea and on shore.”

How we work

“We operate as an extension of your team,” Joerie adds. “Familiar faces. Direct communication. Service availability that doesn’t stop after office hours. We think ahead, spot risks and identify opportunities early. We keep going where others stop. We’re always in control of quality, pace, and follow-up.

What we focus on

“Speed without losing precision,” Roland says. “We move fast, take ownership when things get complicated, and avoid complicated processes or vendor lock-in. Always practical. Always built for real-world operations. With freedom of choice where it matters.”

How we keep ships online

Three core pillars: proactivity, communication, ownership

We do what we promise – thanks to three core principles that shape how we think, act, and deliver. Clear agreements. Familiar faces. Direct communication. That’s how we deliver results you can rely on.

1) We're proactively involved

In mission-critical environments, you don’t want a supplier who waits until you call. So we familiarize ourselves with your environment and anticipate what’s coming. “At Dutch IT Supplier, service doesn’t stop after delivery,” Joerie emphasizes. “We’re all about smarter hardware choices. Scalability when you need it. Maintenance structures that reduce complexity. And we highlight risks and opportunities before you even ask. Even when it doesn’t benefit us directly.”

2) No unnecessary layers

Speed comes from efficiënt communication. “No phone trees. You need someone who knows your environment and acts immediately,” Roland explains. “Every client works with a dedicated account manager they can reach by cell phone and email.” And if something does go wrong, we spring into action, Roland says. “We bring the right people together, create a clear plan, and act immediately. You get clear status updates throughout, so you always know what’s next.”

3) We simply get it done

Ownership means staying committed when it matters most. On Friday afternoons and Tuesday nights. Urgent issue or ‘minor detail’: we keep going until it’s solved. “At Dutch IT Supplier, ownership is part of our DNA,” Joerie says. “No hand-offs. No hold music. Just results.”

Shipment “lost” in Italy, testing continues

CASE: For this project, the equipment was ordered well in advance. Delivery time: 2-3 weeks. We communicated 3-4 weeks to the customer and performed weekly status checks. Suddenly, tracking updates became vague. The manufacturer and carrier had no clear answer. Our back office, sales team, and management escalated together. We tracked down the local carrier and asked the customer to call them in Italian.

Breakthrough: the shipment was located and delivered the same day.

Result: the acceptance test continued, engineers didn’t fly in for nothing, and the project stayed on schedule.

How do you ensure ownership when things get difficult?

  • One central point of control. Dedicated contacts. Even outside office hours.
  • Freedom of choice instead of vendor lock-in. Multiple suppliers when necessary.
Fully transparent on costs, functionality, availability, and support.

What changes for you?

Nothing truly important. “You’ll still work with the same people delivering the same commitment,” Roland explains enthousiastically. “But now, our approach is even clearer and optimized.” Joerie adds: “With short lines, clear ownership, and decisions that work in the real world. Delivering IT is not unique. How we do it is. In maritime environments, ownership, predictability, and the ability to move fast without leaving loose ends truly matter. That’s exactly what we deliver – every day. And this fine-tuned proposition now expresses that even more clearly.”
